If you’ve got a body, then you’re beach body ready.
* Ignore adverts trying to shame you into buying stupid products (that usually don’t work) to ‘prepare’ for the beach.
* Human beings have fat, cellulite, bony bits, hair – on legs, arms, crotches, chins. Have a blitz if it makes you feel good. But there’s no law that you HAVE to exfoliate/ pluck/shave/fake tan before lying on sand.
* We’re not all bronzed, seven feet tall gods and goddesses, with legs that go right up the M1.
* You don’t have to do anything to be a super human – you are wonderful just as you are.
And it’s also fine to have a goal to tone up - to hit the gym/classes/personal training before a holiday.
When you’re on holiday, just enjoy it.
Don’t spend all your time looking round comparing yourself to what other people look like.
One of the most liberating holiday experiences I ever had was in Greece on a nudist beach. There were all shapes and sizes – toddlers waddling around with wrinkly grans wobbling after them.
Yes, there were a few honed and sculpted forms.
And the sun shone equally on all.
