Internal Dialogue – YES, WE ALL HEAR VOICES!!
If you've ever been in the middle of a workout and a little voice in your head starts saying something like, ‘You can't do this…’ or your mind starts to drift, sapping your energy and motivation – you’ve just ‘heard’ or felt your internal dialogue.
Take Control - Wouldn't it be nice to get more control over this dialogue, or turn it off completely? You can.
In the same way that exercise programmes have formulas to get results, there are also training formulas for the mind.
Top Tongue Tip - Try pressing the tip of your tongue to the bottom of your mouth, behind your teeth - hold it down to silence that negative talk. Try it on yourself.
Affirmations – Counteract your negative dialogue with positive statements instead. (See our Fit Club handout on affirmations.) You can say them or write them down – like writing lines in class.

* GLANCE AT IT on your wrist to remind yourself you are willing to change.
* TWANG IT to remind yourself this is just a bad habit talking and you are better than that negative voice.
* NOTICE OTHER PEOPLE’S BANDS – to remind yourself you’re not alone.
